Hollingsworth Taekwon-Do host two to three Black Belt gradings per year. These gradings are conducted by a panel of Instructors selected from within HTKD to make an examiner panel. Before taking the Black Belt grading, candidates must complete a preliminary test to assess their readiness to test at the actual grading. The HTKD Black Belt grading consists of testing candidates on fundamental techniques, kicking techniques, patterns, pre-arranged sparring, free sparring, self defence, special-technique, power-breaking and theory. If successful on the day of the grading, candidates are presented with a HTKD national Black Belt certificate and are later issued with an official Degree certificate, and Degree number from the International Taekwon-Do Federation Union.
